The absorbency of dais period underwear depends on the model.
Each slip can hold the equivalent of 1–5 regular tampons of menstrual fluid.
dais underwear should be rinced in cold water then machined washed at 40 degrees. They should be air dried. They should not cleaned with bleech or fabric softener.
We recommend to change your dais underwear once to twice per day. For example, before bed and in the morning when you wake up. If you have a heavy flow, you might need to change mid way through the day too. You will know when to change them as it will start to feel wet on the outer layer as the underwear is unable to absorb more liquid.
dais underwear do not feel like diapers- in fact they are very thin and are closer to normal everyday underwear than they are like diapers. They also do not make horrible sounds under the clothes, and cannot be seen when wearing under your normal clothes thanks to the seamless technology.
dais period underwear is designed with a multi-layer system.
The top layer quickly draws moisture away from the body into the absorbent core, so you stay feeling dry. If the underwear starts to feel damp over time, it means it has reached its capacity and it’s time to change.
dais underwear are a great replacement for one time use products. Did you know that during a lifetime women can use up to 15,000 pads or tampons! With dais underwear you can save up to 98% waste.
dais period underwear protects you through a smart 4-layer system.
Our fast-absorbing membrane provides optimal protection against leaks – for a dry, fresh feeling all day. Maximum comfort and security for a worry-free period.
No! Our absorbent area is so thin it is less than 2mm which is as thin as a grain of rice. Additionally, all of our underwear is made using seamless technology to ensure that there are no VPL (visible panty lines) because we want you to feel great wearing whatever outfit you want to!
We recommend for you to have 4-6 pairs of dais underwear at a time. This way, whist your worn pairs are washing and drying, you have enough spares to get you through your period. If you are a big traveller, you might want even more to get you through a whole trip without a washing machine.
dais underwear is a more sustainable alternative to single-use products.
Our period underwear is durable, reusable and therefore more resource-friendly compared to disposable products such as pads, tampons or liners.
For our technology to work, we do need to use some synthetic materials. Nylon-based styles, for example, contain more plastic because nylon is a textile made from oil.
To take responsibility for the plastics we do use, we partner with CleanHub: for every gram of plastic in our underwear, the equivalent amount of polluting plastic is collected from the environment.
dais underwear is currently produced in Asia by carefully selected partners.
All production sites are regularly and independently audited to ensure high standards of quality, safety and fairness.
dais absorbent underwear
work based on a 4-layer technology in which plastic is utilized to ensure water and leak proofing- a commonly used technology for this product type.Working together with CleanHub, dais has been able to
neutralize the use of plastic in their underwear, making them the world’s first plastic neutral period underwear. Through this initiative, dais enables the fast collection and recovery of ocean bound plastic waste which supports clean environments and creates sustainable jobs in the global south. No, we do not use biocides in any of our absorbent underwear. We have experience of working with biocides in the past and so became aware of potential adverse consequences of using them. We therefore recommend some alternatives which we are more comfortable using to keep our underwear clean and maintain their condition over their lifetime.
We recommend to wash our underwear at a more eco-friendly maximum of 40 degrees celcius. To ensure bacteria and odours are properly handled there are a few things we recommend.
1. By using a liquid detergent rather than a powder there is a higher chance that the detergent is able to work as powders sometimes do not dissolve properly in a colder wash.
2. Most modern detergents are highly efficient even at colder temperatures however if you want to be sure that 99,9% of bacteria and viruses are killed you can use a laundry sanitizer. Simply purchase a bottle at your local shop and add as instructed to your wash. Please do not use any product containing bleach.
3. White vinegar (5%) is a great everyday disinfectant. Simply add half a cup to your machine wash.
Yes – all dais underwear is certified according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
Ökotex Standard 100 ensures that every component of our underwear has been tested for harmful substances and is completely safe for contact with the skin.
Because the underwear touches very sensitive areas of the body, it’s important that the fabrics are skin-friendly and safe. With Ökotex, you can be sure there are no harmful chemicals in contact with your skin.
dais underwear are a great option for sport however we do not recommend to go swimming in them as the liquid stored in the absorbent layer could start to wash out.
dais underwear is designed to be gentle on sensitive skin.
Our products are made from a blend of cotton, viscose, elastane and other high-quality fibers. All materials are breathable, skin-friendly and free from harmful chemicals.
dais underwear is also suitable for teens and those experiencing their first period.
We don’t have a dedicated teens product line, but our smaller sizes work well for younger users. The materials are breathable and comfortable, making them suitable for all-day wear.
For postpartum we recommend using the For Maternity dais product range. With a v-shaped cut, the underwear can adapt to a changing body shape. With an organic cotton based body, the underwear is also optimsed for breathability.
dais underwear is made with breathable, moisture-wicking materials.
They are designed to support natural airflow and quickly transport moisture away from the body, helping you feel fresh and comfortable throughout the day.
You can find the exact material composition on each product page.
All dais underwear feature a cotton-based inner gusset – the fabric that touches the intimate area. Depending on the model, the rest of the underwear is made from high-quality blends (e.g. cotton, viscose, elastane) that are breathable, skin-friendly and durable.
Yes, all of our underwear are vegan. We do not use materials such as wool to ensure this.
